Artist Profile
Sharing creative skills and ideas is inspirational for all involved.
I believe in facilitating and empowering people to explore and develop
whatever the size or context, the work produced is an expression of that
process and can enhance the environment of its makers. After 30 years I
am still excited by this kind of collaboration. As a public artist /
workshop leader I have been involved with a diverse range of people and
groups.
Artists Biography
Since graduating in 1971 my activities have centred on creative work
and people. This has involved numerous collaborative projects working
with schools and community groups, designing, making, and installing
ceramic and mosaic murals and sculptures. Alongside this I have
developed my own studio based practice making sculptural ceramic
vessels. Each piece is a ‘one-off’ using a variety of hand made clays
and glazes including coloured porcelain, ass glazes and gold lustre. In
1992 I was awarded the International Grand Prix in Japan. My work has
taken me on two visits to Japan, Australia, China, Finland where I
represented Wales at IRIS5; World Ceramic Conference. I am currently
representing the UK at the Ceramics Biennale in Belgium. Last year I
received a Creative Wales Award from ACW.
