Artist Profile
I am a self taught Dance Artist with ten years experience of leading
and facilitating dance workshops and classes. The majority of my work
targets working with children and teenagers within primary and secondary
schools across Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. I started dancing at a
very young age, performing within local and regional showcases and
competitions. I found that through the art form of dance, I could
express myself and the challenges that I faced during life. I enjoy
working with groups of all ages but especially working with challenging
groups from less privileged areas of the community. I am passionate
about building self esteem and confidence though dance.
Artists Biography
In 2001 I studied for my B/TEC in Drama at Coleg Sir Gâr
where I also led evening drama workshops. In 2005 I completed an
'Introduction to Teaching Course' within Carmarthenshire. In 2005 I
trained as a qualified Exercise to Music / Aerobics Instructor which I
have adapted the fitness element into my energetic dance class. In 2006
I completed a Generation X Training Course specifically aimed at
'Teaching Teenagers within Schools' in Nottingham. In 2009 I began
delivering a large part of the 5x60 Dance Delivery in Carmarthenshire.
In 2009 I became a new Arts Care Gofal Celf Associate Dance Artist where
I hope to freelance full time and develop my career as a Dance Artist.
