Artist Profile
Guinevere is trained as a practitioner and teacher within the A-Z
Belly Dance System, learning in Cairo, London and Istanbul. Her dance
skills are updated with tuition from Middle Eastern Dance experts in a
range of styles from Classical Egyptian to Cabaret and Folklore. Her
client groups are mainly teenage girls and women from a range of
backgrounds. She runs classes and workshops throughout West Wales and
the UK.
Guinevere is the author of Fresh Fruit and Screams – a collection
of sixty poems launched in 2006 under Bluechrome Press. She has written
creatively from her teenage years, studied creative writing as part of
her BA Degree and has since completed a Masters Degree in Creative
writing. Her work has been featured in galleries and festivals combining
words with visual art, dance and film in new media installations. Her
workshops are tailored to the individual and combine media to increase
accessibility in the spoken and written creative writing forms.
Artists Biography
Guinevere has practiced Belly Dance for fifteen years and taught for
eight years. She was a national semi-finalist in an entrepreneurial
business competition for her work with Baubo Belly Dance. Her work has
been featured in National press and Radio. BA Hons in Physical Theatre,
Live Arts and Creative Writing. Guinevere has twenty years of general
nursing experience. Her Belly Dance project has been enjoyed by various
NHS groups, The Princes Trust and Women’s Aid amongst others.
Guinevere has studied creative writing and poetry with Brian Paten,
Sophie Hannah and Menna Elfyn amongst others. Guinevere’s recent poetry
performances include; the Fishguard Arts Society, Creative Experience
Festival Pontardawe Arts Centre for International Women’s Day,
Bluechrome poetry launches and the Dylan Thomas Centre. She has a BA
Hons degree in Live Arts, Creative Writing & Physical Theatre.
